FP McCann have completed the Killagan P-Way Railway Compound upgrade works

The Killagan P-Way railway compound is located on the Killagan Road adjacent to Killagan Level Crossing outside Glarryford at the site of the old Killagan Station and Goods Shed which was closed to passengers in 1973.

The project consisted of:

  • Site clearance, including:
    • de-vegetation
    • removal of shockproof fencing
    • removal of redundant aggregate waste materials
    • disposal to a registered waste facility
  • Weed suppression
  • Reprofiling and grading of the proposed yard area
  • Supply and install of 80 linear metres of 2m high V mesh panels
  • Supply and install of 85 linear metres of 1m high V mesh panels
  • Supply and install of a Double Leaf Maintenance gate (8m opening, 2m high)
  • Supply and install of a Cantilevered Manual Sliding gate (8m opening, 2m high)
  • Supply and install of a Single Leaf Pedestrian gate (1.2m opening, 2m high)
  • Supply and install of new LED Flood Lighting including supply and control cabling and kiosks
  • Installation of an Insitu Concrete Rail Access Ramp and S&T Cable Protection Slab
  • Final resurfacing of the yard

The refurbishment of this Translink P-Way yard by FP McCann increased the rail yard capacity for both plant and material storage, improved security, improved safety for vehicles accessing/egressing the site and provided infrastructure for the future construction of a rail maintenance vehicle access point.
