RSK Group Acquires Innovative Catalan Water, Construction and Engineering Specialists

Catalan water management, consulting and engineering services company ABM has been acquired by RSK, a global leader in the delivery of sustainable solutions.

The business, which boasts more than 20 years in the Catalan market, has offices in Barcelona and Girona. ABM provides its services to both public clients (at all levels) and private clients (from other engineering and architectural services companies to operators of water and energy services, promoters, industry, etc.) mainly established in Catalonia and in the rest of Spain.

ABM is committed to the constant improvement and expansion of its services, adapting them to both the latest technologies and to the needs of its clients. This the reason why the company has been working on research, development and innovation projects that enable new technologies to be incorporated into water resources management systems in collaboration with project partners, including public entities.

The company has a team of 36, including civil engineers, industrial engineers, architects, PhD engineers, geographic information system experts, chemical engineers and agronomic engineers.

Managing Director Joan Macarro Ortega, who will continue to lead the business, said: “Being part of the RSK Group, a company with similar values to ours, allows us to continue increasing the value of ABM services to our clients and to society in general, as well as promoting the development of our technical specialists and collaborators in new projects.”

RSK Group Chief Executive Officer Alan Ryder said: “ABM brings specialised knowledge and impressive project experience across a range of water sector management and civil and urban engineering work, providing advanced solutions for these projects with an emphasis on the water sector.

“The team shares RSK’s emphasis on responding to the challenges posed by climate change and working with clients to deliver solutions that improve water management. We look forward to working together to advance these shared goals and particularly where these advance our commitment to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.”

As RSK continues to deliver its ambitious growth strategy, it now comprises more than 200 companies employing 12,000 people. The group’s annual turnover at the end of FY23 is expected to be in excess of £1.2 billion (accounts to be filed in due course).
