ACHILLIES Properties’ purchase of a new facility at Malmo Road in late 2022 and a long lease granted to Endent Energy was the start of a phased relocation and expansion plan in Hull.
It began with North Sea Ventilation & Air Conditioning Limited (NSV&AC) taking occupation in January 2023 and concluded with the relocation of Thermoplant Offshore Services Limited (TOSL) in December 2023.
Endent Energy’s relocation has also helped protect jobs at TOSL and NSV&AC and opened new job opportunities for further staff growth in the local community for years to come.
The programme began when planning was granted to erect a factory extension to the existing site, increasing the manufacturing floor space from 17,500 ft2 to 23,500 ft2 and providing additional on-site parking. Integral to the programme, was Endent Energy’s long-term commitment to Hull and the local economy.
Working with local contractors, B&H Building Ltd, work began on site in Summer 2023. As part of the building programme, and in keeping with the Group’s environmental commitment, roof solar panels were installed to feed the onsite power requirements, as well as supplying surplus energy back into the National Grid.
To assist with the building works a Grant was secured from the Hull and East Yorkshire LEP’s Growing Places Fund, enabling TOSL to relocate the laser machine and other sheet metal equipment from its existing premises at Craven Street
The successful building works were bought in on schedule, and the extension was handed over in Autumn 2023.
With building works complete, the focus turned to the relocation of TOSL from its historic base in Craven Street to the new modern facility at Malmo Road. By combining their core business functions, TOSL and NSV&AC are now able to share resources and utilise the high-tech facilities that Malmo Road offers.
The businesses continue to offer their own range of specialist heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment to their separate markets.
Kevin Atkinson, Director of Endent, said ‘Going forward, the combined resources will help both businesses grow and employ more staff, acting as a conduit for access to new knowledge and expertise. The increased shopfloor capacity will increase productivity and efficiency and at the same time continue to supply the highest quality HVAC products, all of which will bring long term benefits to its customers.’
