Grange Design indulges the grey bathroom trend

Grange Design
, leading UK-based designers, manufacturers and specialist distributors for the bathroom industry, indulge the latest trend for grey bathroom interiors and showcase its range of contemporary Atlantic basin mixers in complementary polished chrome and matt black finishes.

From polished and raw concrete walls to natural slate tiles, grey-coloured sanitaryware and cool metallic finishes, the colour grey is lending itself to monochromatic bathroom schemes by creating a calming environment, which appears to be larger than it is! In fact, light grey is now considered a sophisticated alternative to white and was 1 of 2 most searched-for paint colours in 2024, with online searches for grey bathroom ideas peaking in 2025.

2026 is predicted to be the year of layering and opting for a bathroom scheme, which uses variations of the same colour will not only simplify the design process but also speed up product selection by letting you focus on one primary shade to introduce colour, texture and form.

Clive Griffiths at Grange Design shares his thoughts on how to achieve the grey bathroom trend in your home:

BRASSWARE – With so many options available, chrome taps and showering solutions remain the number one choice when creating an impactful grey bathroom scheme thanks to the silvery-blue high shine finish, which is low-maintenance, durable and sleek in appearance. From basin to bath and shower area, cool metallic brassware lends itself to compact spaces like the downstairs cloakroom or ensuite as its reflective surface will bounce light around the room. Equally, larger bathrooms are high traffic areas that are used by nearly every member of the household and so the durability and easy-clean nature of chrome is ideal when everyday use is guaranteed.

For those who want their brassware to contrast against a backdrop of grey, then matt black taps and shower products are the perfect choice. Especially when paired alongside white gloss sanitaryware, as the opposing surface texture will enhance the look and feel of your washbasin while introducing a blend of three popular shades: white, black, and quintessential grey.

SURFACES – As the market continues to show a preference for natural materials in the home, the furniture, walls and flooring provide a great opportunity for you to drench the bathroom in your favourite grey hues. Look out for real or imitation architectural concrete, natural stone, and porcelain tiles for the walls and floors, ceramic basins and bathtubs in every shade of grey, as well as painted wood furniture, which features cool metallic hardware to unify the space and add layers of grey throughout the space. Plus, if your bathroom is south facing then selecting grey as a foundation colour will ensure your bathroom receives plenty of natural light, with darker greys absorbing more light and lighter greys reflecting more!
