GRAHAM to deliver £59m student accommodation project at Loughborough University

GRAHAM has been appointed to deliver a new £59 million student accommodation scheme on Loughborough University’s East Midlands campus, following planning approval from Charnwood Borough Council.

The project will provide 552 new bedspaces across five accommodation blocks of up to six storeys, set within landscaped surroundings that include a shared plaza and landscaped square. The development also incorporates dedicated amenity space, sub-warden accommodation, a new plant block, utilities, and associated external works.

Situated in the Central Park area of the campus, close to the Edward Herbert Building, the new Hall of Residence will help meet growing demand for high-quality, self-catered, en-suite accommodation. Designed to improve the student experience, the development will include generous shared study and social spaces, reflecting feedback from students who value the convenience and community of living on campus.

Graham Howard, Director of Estates and Facilities Management at Loughborough University, said: “We are delighted to be working with GRAHAM on our new accommodation development. We know that being able to live on our campus is hugely important to our students, and the new hall will help us to meet the increasing demand for high-quality living accommodation that is an integral part of the overall student experience we offer.”

Ronan Hughes, Regional Director at GRAHAM, said: “We’re proud to be working with Loughborough University on this major new accommodation project, which will provide a first-class living environment for students and contribute to the continued growth of the University’s campus. Our team is focused on delivering a high-quality development that supports the University’s long-term accommodation strategy and improves the overall student experience.”

Construction is due to begin in early 2026, with completion scheduled for late summer 2027, ready for the start of the academic year.
