The transport team at Tobermore has been recognised at the annual Export & Freight Awards for their commitment to excellence in customer service.
They were presented with the ‘Top Team of the Year’ award, sponsored by GRN Search Group, at a glittering ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in South Belfast, an event attended by almost 600 guests from all sectors of the transport and logistics industry and compered by the BBC’s Mark Simpson.
Organised by the Hillsborough based publishers of Export & Freight magazine, 4SM (NI) Ltd, the event is Ireland’s premier platform of recognition for those operating in the industry; it celebrates all the hard work, determination, and ongoing investment that make the industry what it is today.
Tobermore is a world-class manufacturer of paving and walling, supplying the commercial and domestic markets throughout the UK and Ireland, currently employing over 470 people.
Its Transport Team, managed by Head of Transport, Philip Whiteside, consists of 10 members, each working together to achieve and maintain an excellent delivery service to their customers. It is a progressive team, highly organised and determined, always adaptable, hardworking, and resilient with a proactive approach to achieve their goals.

The Awards judges also picked up on Tobermore’s approach to creating a healthy working environment and the fact that it provides an inhouse app, giving employees instant access to a wide range of health & wellbeing services.
The work of the team at Tobermore has not gone unnoticed. Apart from picking up this ‘Top Team Award,’ the business has received numerous accolades from customers and partners, highlighting their excellent service and commitment to sustainability. These achievements include “Supplier of the Year” at the 2022 Builders Merchant Awards, and “Sustainable Manufacturing Business of the Year” at the Business Eye Sustainability Awards 2023.
