LET THERE BE LIGHT: Labcraft’s new Lunalux LED keeps fleets lit up whatever the job

LABCRAFT, the industry-leading designer and manufacturer of LED lighting for commercial vehicles, has launched the Lunalux – an exceptionally hard-wearing and extremely compact interior LED light system designed for a wide range of applications.

Developed with durability in mind, the Lunalux is housed in a robust aluminium casting and features a potted resin over the LED optics to protect the lamp and its components from damage.

At just 15mm, the low-profile design renders Lunalux completely unobtrusive and as such it has virtually no impact on internal vehicle space. Although diminutive in size, the Lunalux generates over 655 lumens from just two LEDs.

“The Lunalux was originally commissioned for a livestock trailer manufacturer,” says Matt Stubbs, Labcraft’s Sales manager, “but its robust and compact nature means it has a broad appeal to different sectors and markets. We have seen a growing number of companies specifying Lunalux for their commercial vehicles in the UK, Europe, and farther afield.”

“They have been adopted by refrigerated trailer specialists in Australia and the UAE as Lunalux is protected to IP67, as well as other trailer manufacturers in Europe. Several refrigerated van converters have decided to trial the Lunalux, too, so it could soon become a staple product for the conversion industry.”

While its initial application was for the rough and tumble environment of livestock trailers, where space and sturdiness are priorities, Lunalux, like the other Labcraft lighting solutions, was designed with workplace lighting in mind. It suits a variety of general applications, including ambient and refrigerated trailers, luton-bodies, rigid vans and HGVs as it is less prone to damage that loading and unloading can cause. To date, the company has sold over 20,000 units.

All Labcraft lights are type approved and are made at the company’s ISO9001/14001 facility in Saffron Walden, Essex, where they follow an environmentally conscious, ecological and responsible manufacturing process.
