DfE appoints GRAHAM to deliver significant redevelopment in Leicestershire

Co. Down headquartered GRAHAM has been appointed by the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver a major redevelopment of The Castle Rock School in Coalville, Leicestershire.

The £37m project will see significant investment in new and upgraded facilities across the existing secondary and sixth form campus. Plans include the construction of a new, two-storey school building, and refurbishing and remodelling a retained building. Several outdated blocks will be demolished to make way for modern, high-quality accommodation for up to 1,550 pupils. The programme also includes new outdoor learning and play areas, a three-court multi-use games area (MUGA) including the provision of new sports pitches, and wider improvements across the school site.

Once complete, the redeveloped campus will provide modern facilities designed to support both academic and pastoral needs, strengthening provision for students aged 11 to 18.

Lindsey Crabtree, Education Director at GRAHAM, said: “Creating inspiring, resilient and future-focused learning environments sits at the heart of what we do at GRAHAM. The Castle Rock School project is about supporting the school’s ambitions and improving the day-to-day experience for pupils and teachers, while ensuring that the estate is ready for the next generation of learners. We are pleased to be working with the DfE and the school community to bring these plans forward.”
