A 50-year-old insulation company helping homes and businesses on their journeys to create a cleaner environment has pledged £20,000 to the Northern Ireland Children to Lapland and Days to Remember Trust (NICLT) — a charity that gives children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions experiences to cherish.

Energystore which manufactures and installs insulation in the UK and Irish markets and works from six sites including two in Northern Ireland (Larne and Lisburn), will donate £20,000 over a two-year period to NICLT.

It makes Energystore the newest corporate partner of the 15-year-old charity and its funding will support NICLT’s annual flight to Lapland on which more than 100 local children, their parents/carers and health professionals take to the skies for a magical day in Rovaniemi, Finland.

It will also help support the Days to Remember element of the charity’s efforts including the newly resumed flight to Disneyland Paris and more local occasions organised to cater to children who are not able to fly.

Bill McCandless, Managing Director of Larne headquartered Energystore said: “We are delighted to support the Northern Ireland Children to Lapland Trust through two annual donations of £10,000.

“This partnership resonates with Energystore’s strong set of core values that shape how we work. We are committed to giving back to the community through our products and services that play a role in creating a greener environment while NI Children to Lapland and Days to Remember Trust is committed to making a difference in communities here by creating magic for vulnerable children.

“Being able to support local families and help the charity with their mission is something we can all be proud of.”

Chair of NICLT, Colin Barkley, said: “The Northern Ireland Children to Lapland and Days to Remember Trust is entirely self-financing and it has always been important for us to develop mutually beneficial relationships in the community, with businesses which share our ideals and objectives.

“Energystore is one of those businesses. Already making an impact on communities’ energy usage, it has extended its efforts to impact the children that we work with. Its support will go a long way in enabling us to continue our mission to give terminally ill, life-limited and deserving children from across Northern Ireland a truly magical day that they can cherish.”

Energystore joins a host of other local businesses that are now part of the NICLT family including Wineflair, The Bushmills Inn, Hagan Homes, Barclay Communications, C-Tec (NI), Glens of Antrim Potatoes, CosyRoof, Bells of Crossgar.

Some of these businesses have been supporting the charity since it began operating while others have joined as corporate partners pledging a financial commitment over a specific time period.

Energystore will donate £10,000 in year one and a further £10K in year two of its partnership.
