DHF Launches New Security & Emergency Exit Doorsets Course

0
Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) has announced that it will be launching a new course entitled Security & Emergency Exit Doorsets (non-fire), its objective being to improve the knowledge of those involved in the installation, repair and modification of all types of doorsets for general applications.
The one-day course, authored and delivered by DHF’s Senior Training & Compliance Officer, Steve Hill, and (at present) open to DHF members only, will cover most personnel doors which do not contain fire resistance; these may include doors for escape purposes – including fire escape – doors with security ratings and those doors which are on circulation routes or provided for privacy.
The course will commence on 28th November and be delivered in the classroom at DHF’s Training Academy in Shuttington.  The course is attendance certificate only but is registered with the CPD Certification Scheme and carries six hours CPD (Continued Professional Development) points.  Delegates will receive a workbook for them to populate throughout the duration of the day, and to keep for future reference.
“The course comprises six units, and will enable an understanding of the legislation and standards relating to doorsets as well as an understanding of the possibilities for, and limitations on, modification of individual door types,” explains DHF’s Commercial Director, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens.
“In addition, an understanding of the consequences of specification decisions and access control options, the processes involved in installation, and the requirements for the automating of existing doors, will be learned.  The course is aimed at installers, maintainers, sales staff, office staff, self-employed sub-contractors, and anyone with responsibility for doorsets in a commercial setting.  Delegates will leave with an increased awareness of possibilities and limitations on different door types.”
If you wish to attend this course but are not a member of DHF, please contact membership@dhfonline.org.uk or visit https://bit.ly/3FsGEhg , for further information.
